About Demco Printing Inc
Your Local Printing Experts
Oklahoma and Demco Printing share more than a century of history, beginning when the wild territory welcomed a young Tennessee native, M.M. "Moses" Henderson, in 1901.

He first settled in Lawton and joined a business partner opening a tent with a restaurant and cots. It was a train wreck near Choctaw that left Henderson recovering in a hospital in Shawnee.
When the business partner decided to sell the tent, Henderson received enough money to purchase a weekly paper in Tecumseh from H.V. Foster for $4,000.
After settling in Tecumseh, Henderson established The Tecumseh Standard. He then purchased Demco Printing's forerunner, The County Democrat, in 1907.
When the county courthouse was moved to Shawnee in the mid-1930s, Henderson moved his newspaper there as well. The company has remained in Shawnee since that time. It was hit by a tornado in 1970 and completely destroyed by fire in 1982 before being rebuilt at the same location.
The business has remained in the family throughout its existence. Henerson's son, L. P. and later Buddy Henderson directed the company. Today, Henderson's great grandson, Ron Henderson and Ron's daughter, Renee Henderson Wortham manage the business.
Ron joined the company in 1961, and Renee accepted a position with the group after graduating from the University of Oklahoma. Ron was named Small Business Person of the Year in 2005 and served as Chairman of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
Today, Demco Printing has evolved into a commercial printing business and continues to produce The County Democrat, a weekly legal publication.
